About
The adidas Yeezy Boost 950 is a suede and ballistic nylon duckboot from Kanye West's Yeezy Season 1 collection, released October 29, 2015 at select adidas Originals retailers. It launched alongside the earlier Yeezy Boost 750 and Yeezy Boost 350 as one of the debut Yeezy Season 1 silhouettes, but broke from their low-top sneaker construction with a seven-hole, military-inspired boot shape built for cold weather. The 950 debuted in four colorways, Peyote, Moonrock, Chocolate, and Pirate Black, each pairing a rugged suede and nylon upper with a heavy-duty rubber traction sole, a large pull tab at the heel, and an extended platform midsole. At $585 retail, it was the most expensive Yeezy release at the time. The boot's utilitarian, outdoor-inspired design set it apart from the Boost-cushioned 750 and the sock-like Primeknit 350, reflecting the range of silhouettes Kanye West brought to his first year with adidas. adidas later brought the 950 boot back for limited restocks in 2022 and 2023 amid continued demand for early Yeezy pieces.
