About
The Yeezy Boost 700 debuted in the "Wave Runner" colorway, first shown at the Yeezy Season 5 fashion show in 2017 before its August 12, 2017 retail release, sold exclusively and in limited quantity through Yeezy Supply. The upper is built from mesh, suede, and leather in "Solid Grey/Chalk White/Core Black," with teal and blue mesh underlay panels on the forefoot, suede overlays at the toe and heel, grey leather eyestays, and neon green laces. A thick Boost midsole in white is detailed with black and bright orange accents, sitting over a black rubber outsole with herringbone traction. It restocked repeatedly in 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024, each time drawing strong demand. Sneaker press credits the model with launching a new, deliberately bulky direction for Yeezy, moving away from the brand's earlier running-shoe minimalism toward a more conspicuous, luxurious lifestyle look, helping kick off the broader "chunky dad shoe" trend.
