The adidas Falcon is a women's-exclusive lifestyle sneaker that adidas Originals relaunched in 2018, reviving the silhouette of the 1997 Falcon Dorf performance runner, the same archive shoe that also inspired the Yung-1. The first colorway, a Core Black/Light Granite pair (style code BB9173), released June 2, 2018 at a retail price of 150 dollars; later colorways, including a Triple White pair released September 6, 2018, retailed at 100 dollars. Built for 2018's chunky 'dad shoe' trend, the Falcon pairs a mesh upper base with layered suede overlays: a suede mudguard wraps the toe box and heel, and suede-covered eyelets carry an adidas Trefoil jewel detail. A chunky EVA midsole and a Torsion X-bar 'Stabilising Torsion System' nod to 1990s running-shoe construction. In August 2018, adidas signed Kylie Jenner as a brand ambassador, and the Falcon became the centerpiece of her debut 90s-inspired adidas Originals campaign, which launched globally on September 6, 2018. No individual designer is publicly credited for the shoe.
