About
Released in 1996, the Reebok Question was Allen Iverson's first signature shoe, launched around his rookie season with the Philadelphia 76ers after he was selected first overall in that year's NBA Draft. Designer Scott Hewett looked to Iverson's own habits at Georgetown, where he famously played in Air Jordan 11s, and built in a similar toe-cap overlay, a ghillie lacing system, and a translucent outsole. The name itself responded to the skepticism that surrounded Iverson heading into the draft, over his size and his attitude, turning doubt into a rallying point. Reebok's OG "Red Toe" colorway from that debut year became the shoe's most iconic version, and the company has repeatedly revisited it, including a 25th-anniversary reissue in 2020 and further retros in the years since. Today the Question is widely regarded as Reebok's most recognizable basketball silhouette and remains in steady rotation through both retro drops and collaborations, among them a 2021 collection with Concepts marking the 1996 NBA Draft class. Nearly three decades later, it still stands as Iverson's most enduring signature shoe.
