About
The PUMA RS-X debuted in late 2018 as part of PUMA's Futro campaign, which blends futuristic and retro sneaker design. It draws heritage from the original RS (Running System) cushioning technology, which launched with the RS 100 in 1986. That lineage also includes the RS-Computer Chip, the first shoe to feature a built-in heel computer that tracked running distance and caloric expenditure. PUMA revived the RS cushioning in early 2018 with the RS-0, RS-100, and RS-350 before introducing the RS-X. The RS-X features an organized chaotic design with playful hues and multiple panels of different materials, ranging from straightforward duotone colorways to multicolored splashes. Technically, the shoe delivers a thick heel stack of 39.9mm, a forefoot stack of 22.7mm, and a very soft midsole, placing it among the most cushioned lifestyle sneakers in its class. Its breathable mesh upper combines synthetic and leather overlays over a durable rubber outsole with a wide stable platform. The RS-X targets consumers who live to express their individuality, reviving a classic silhouette for modern wearers.
