About
The Nike Air Max 95 launched in 1995, designed by Sergio Lozano with an anatomically inspired silhouette drawn from human anatomy. According to Wikipedia, the design mirrors the vertebral column, with materials chosen to represent skin, ribs, and tendons across the layered upper. It was the first model in the Air Max line to feature dual air cushions — one in the heel and one in the forefoot — with air pressure technology adapted to the forefoot curvature. The original colourway launched in black, neon yellow, and white, with neon used to highlight the air units. The smaller Nike Swoosh sits on the rear side panel, a distinctive departure from earlier models, and 3M Scotchlite material is incorporated into the upper. A "25 PSI" air pressure marking appears on the rear air unit. Culturally, the Air Max 95 gained prominence in hip-hop and earned the nickname "110s" in Liverpool, UK, based on its former £110 retail price. It remains one of the most referenced Air Max silhouettes in street culture and continues to receive new colourway releases.
