The Echo Clog debuted in October 2022 as part of Crocs' 20th-anniversary 'Croctober' celebrations, reimagining the brand's original Classic Clog silhouette with a more aggressive, sport-inspired shape. Built entirely from Crocs' proprietary Croslite foam, the Echo introduced staggered, exoskeletal ridges running along the sole and around the shoe's edges, a sportier nylon backstrap, and an engineered LiteRide drop-in footbed for added cushioning underfoot. The design gave the clog a more technical, streetwear-oriented look than the smooth-shelled Classic Clog it descended from, while keeping the perforated ventilation ports across the upper compatible with Jibbitz charms. Initial colorways, including 'Desert Grass' and 'Stucco,' launched around $70, positioned above the Classic Clog's price point to reflect the added detailing. The silhouette quickly became one of Crocs' most experimented-with platforms, spawning the outdoor-leaning Echo RO variant and later an 'Echo II' refinement with an updated shape. It has also carried numerous collaborations, including releases with BAPE and G-SHOCK, extending the line well beyond its original campground- and streetwear-driven debut.
