The ASICS Gel-Nimbus is the brand's top-tier cushioned daily training shoe, engineered for neutral and underpronating runners seeking maximum shock absorption on long-distance runs. The Gel-Nimbus 11, released in fall 2009 at $125 USD, weighed 12 ounces and combined large Gel cushioning units in both the heel and forefoot with a Solyte midsole compound for a lighter, springier underfoot feel. The series has continued through more than 25 iterations: the Gel-Nimbus 25 launched in February 2023 at $160 with FF Blast foam technology, while the Gel-Nimbus 26 introduced PureGEL cushioning with a 40.4mm heel stack at 303g.
