About
The adidas Yeezy Boost 350 was the second sneaker to emerge from Kanye West's collaboration with adidas, following the Yeezy Boost 750, and released worldwide on June 27, 2015. West had left Nike in 2013 after the brand declined to pay him royalties; adidas agreed to royalty payments and gave him full creative control and 100% ownership of his Yeezy brand. The 350's debut colorway, 'Turtle Dove,' paired a grey-and-black Primeknit upper with black accents, a cream-toned full-length Boost midsole, and a red-stitched heel pull tab. It retailed for $200 and became, according to Sneaker Freaker, the release that really made the line soar, establishing the 350 as the collaboration's most popular product line. The knit upper used flat-knitting machinery combined with synthetic yarns, while the midsole originally blended petroleum-based EVA with algae-derived foam. In October 2015, Footwear News named the Yeezy Boost 350 its Shoe of the Year, and GQ later called it the most influential shoe of 2016. A second version, the Yeezy Boost 350 V2, followed in September 2016 with the 'Beluga' colorway, introducing the SPLY-350 side stripe absent from the low-top original.
