Unlike prior Yeezy models, the 500 does not use Boost cushioning; it runs on adidas' adiPRENE+ sole unit, giving it a bulky, exaggerated midsole often described as part of the dad shoe chunky-sneaker trend. Its upper combines premium leather, mesh, cow suede and nubuck panels in a layered, multi-textured construction, contributing to its tonal, retro-inspired look.
