Nike has put flowers on an Air Force 1 at least four separate times. The Jacquard Floral Embroidery women's pair, the "Now Accepting All Flowers" black premium, an LV8 Floral in grade school sizes, and a "Flower Pack" earlier this year. Most of them were fine. None of them were this good.
IR8617-900 arrives 16 August 2026 at $125, in a colourway Nike is calling Multi-Color/Cinnabar/Off-Noir. Footwear News confirmed the date and price, with nike.com and Nike Sportswear accounts carrying it and select stockists like Hibbett going early.
Stitched, Not Printed. That Is the Whole Difference.
The base is textured black leather. Over it, red, pink and burgundy flowers run from toe to heel in actual embroidery, with the flower heads varying in size and full petals, stems and leaves worked in so the pattern reads as depth rather than wallpaper. Black suede Swooshes cut through the middle of the bloom on both sides, which is the detail that stops the whole thing collapsing into noise.
Everything else stays deliberately quiet. Black laces, black tongue, black heel tabs, black midsole and outsole. Red turns up only where it earns attention: the tongue labels, the heel, and the "AIR" text near the rear midsole. A silver dubrae sits at the front.
Compare it to the DR6402-900 Jacquard Floral Embroidery pair and the gap is obvious. That one buried the Swoosh inside the pattern and the shoe lost its shape from three feet away. Is $125 Defensible on a General Release?
Six months ago the standard Air Force 1 '07 was discounted to $65 in the US. Nike is now asking nearly double for a general release with no collaborator attached. That should annoy you, and it mostly does not, for one reason: embroidery is genuinely more expensive than print, and it is the one AF1 upgrade that survives daily wear.
Printed floral AF1s crack. The graphic sits on top of the leather, the toe box creases, and within a season you have a shoe with a fault line across the flowers. Stitched panels crease with the leather instead of against it. That is why the embroidered AF1s hold their look, and it is why this is the floral AF1 to actually buy rather than admire.
On resale, be sceptical of anybody quoting you a premium this early. The shoe has not released, so there is no established StockX market on IR8617-900 yet, only listings waiting for stock. Look at how the older floral AF1s trade instead. The Jacquard Floral Embroidery pair, the LV8 Floral in grade school sizing and the "Now Accepting All Flowers" black premium all sit on StockX as ordinary general releases rather than hype pieces. Embroidered florals are a wear-them shoe, not a flip. Anyone selling you one at a markup in August is pricing your impatience.
One caveat worth knowing before you get attached: Sole Retriever lists this as a women's-sized release. If you wear men's sizing, subtract roughly 1.5 to land on the right women's US number, and expect a slightly narrower last than a men's '07. Anyone with a wide Indian foot should size up half rather than fight it.
The India Price Math, Done Properly
A standard Air Force 1 '07 sits at ₹9,695 on VegNonVeg right now, and has been going out the door around ₹7,756 on markdown. That is your baseline for what an AF1 should cost in this country.
Now import the Floral. At $125 and the 3 August 2026 rate of roughly ₹95.3 to the dollar, the declared value is about ₹11,900. Footwear entering India carries 35% basic customs duty, a social welfare surcharge of 10% calculated on that duty, and 18% IGST applied over the combined total. The stack works out to roughly 1.63 times declared value, so you are landing at about ₹19,400 before shipping or proxy fees. Add a forwarder and you are near ₹21,000.
So the import version costs somewhere between two and two and a half times a normal AF1 in India. Reasonable for a limited collaboration. Steep for a general release.
Our Verdict: Wait for Nike India
Do not import this one. That is the honest answer and it is not the exciting one.
General-release Air Force 1s with no collaborator attached almost always reach Nike India eventually, usually at a rupee price well under the landed import number, because Nike is pricing for the local market rather than passing duty through to you. Collabs are the ones you chase, because they never arrive. This is not a collab. It is a very good seasonal colourway, and seasonal colourways are exactly what the India catalogue does get.
Set a reminder for nike.in in September and October. If it has not surfaced by November, then talk to a proxy, and only if you still want it as badly as you do in August. Meanwhile, if you want a black AF1 landed and in hand today, the Nike shelf is the faster route.
How to Wear It Here
Black base, red flowers. That is a much easier shoe to dress than the pastel florals Nike usually runs, and it survives Indian light, which flattens soft colours into nothing by noon.
Straight black or charcoal trousers, a plain white or oxblood top, no other pattern anywhere. The shoe is the print. It also works surprisingly well with a dark kurta and slim trousers for an evening event, which is the sort of pairing the pastel florals never managed.
