About
The Reebok Answer DMX was Allen Iverson's second signature shoe, released October 31, 1997, following his rookie-year Question. It was the first basketball sneaker built around Reebok's DMX moving-air cushioning, replacing the Question's Hexalite pods with an air-based system. Reebok's team had begun developing a "Question 2" during Iverson's rookie season but pivoted so DMX would debut on his next shoe instead. The Answer introduced Iverson's now-iconic I3 logo and a split lace design that breaks up the Vector logo on the tongue. It launched in colorways tied to the Philadelphia 76ers, including a black/gold pair and a white/red "Rookie of the Year" pair. Fourteen Answer models followed between 1997 and 2009, with a 2014 revival, making the line the second-longest-running basketball signature franchise in history. It has been retro'd multiple times, most recently in 2022 at $170.
