About

The Nike Zoom Kobe II is Kobe Bryant's second Nike signature basketball shoe, released in 2007 following a December 2006 unveiling. Designed by Ken Link, it marked Kobe's first deep involvement in the design process, a collaboration that took roughly 18 months to develop. The shoe launched as part of a three-part 'Weapons of War' campaign comprising the Sheath, Strength, and Lite versions, each tuned for different performance needs. It was built to deliver speed, strength, flexibility, support and traction for Kobe's game, featuring Zoom Air cushioning in the forefoot and heel for responsive impact protection. The primary silhouette is a mid-top with a signature ankle strap, while the Lite version offered a slimmed-down low-cut build without the strap. Compared to the original Kobe I, the II was a full overhaul aimed at being a more well-rounded basketball shoe, with a reworked toe box and improved flexibility. It released in colorways including Carpe Diem, Lakers Home, Olympic, and Shark.
