About
The Air Jordan XIV was released in October 1998, designed by Tinker Hatfield and Mark Smith. The shoe was inspired by the Ferrari 550 M which Michael Jordan owned at the time and features a Ferrari-shaped badge carrying the Jordan Jumpman insignia on the heel. The predominant colorway is black accentuated with red. The shoe contains 14 Jumpman logos in total — 7 on each shoe — corresponding to the model number. Its most iconic colorway is nicknamed The Last Shot, named after the game-winning shot Jordan hit over Bryon Russell of the Utah Jazz in Game 6 of the 1998 NBA Finals — his final game as a Chicago Bull. This made the Jordan XIV a commemorative piece tied directly to the conclusion of the Bulls dynasty era. The shoe was re-released in 2005, 2006, 2008, 2011, 2012, and throughout 2014–2018, reflecting its lasting cultural significance within the Air Jordan lineage.
