About
The Adidas Forum was created in 1984 by French designer Jacques Chassaing, who consulted professional basketball players to develop what he considered an optimal performance shoe. Its defining structural feature is a criss-cross ankle strap system engineered to stabilise players' feet during play. The Forum debuted at a pivotal moment in basketball history — Michael Jordan wore the shoe while competing for the US team at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics. Beyond the hardwood, the Forum's traction and chunky silhouette made it a favourite among skateboarders and streetwear communities throughout the 1980s and 1990s. After years out of rotation, Adidas relaunched the Forum as part of its Originals line in 2020, sparking a new generation of fans. The reissue found renewed cultural momentum through collaborations with Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny, whose low-top Forum collabs sold out within minutes and firmly placed the silhouette back at the centre of global sneaker conversation.
