About
The adidas Adizero Adios Pro is a carbon-plated racing shoe in adidas's Adizero performance running line, officially unveiled on June 25, 2020 and released in a limited drop on June 30, 2020 in a white-and-coral colorway under style code FX1765, retailing at $200. It introduced EnergyRods: five tuned carbon-infused rods modeled on the metatarsal bones of the foot, embedded in a dual-layer LightstrikePRO foam midsole that adidas called its lightest and most responsive compound at the time, topped with a nylon-and-carbon-fiber heel plate for ankle stability. adidas said the shoe was developed over thousands of kilometres of testing and dozens of prototypes, with input from elite athletes across three continents, including Joyciline Jepkosgei and Rhonex Kipruto. On September 5, 2020, Kenyan runner Peres Jepchirchir wore the Adizero Adios Pro to a women-only-race half marathon world record of 1:05:34 at the RunCzech race in Prague, one of the shoe's first major competitive results.
