About
The Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski is skateboarder Stefan Janoski's signature shoe, released by Nike Skateboarding in 2009. Designed by Janoski together with James Arizumi, Nike SB's footwear designer, it was the first Nike SB signature model built from scratch rather than adapted from an existing silhouette like the Dunk. Development took roughly two years and multiple full redesigns; Janoski rejected early cup-sole samples before the team shifted to a vulcanized construction to achieve the flat, low-bulk toe box he wanted. The finished shoe paired a minimal, thin tongue with reduced padding and stitching, an embroidered swoosh in matte thread, leather laces, and a cork sockliner, a nod to his family's winery, on early releases. Built to prioritize fit, flexibility, and board feel over ankle protection, it launched at roughly $75. What started as a niche skate shoe grew into one of Nike SB's best-selling models, with sales climbing sharply by 2013, and it crossed over into everyday streetwear far beyond the skate park, becoming, by most accounts, the label's best-known signature shoe.
